IMPAIRED LOWER LIMB CONTROL
Impaired lower limb control, gait disturbances, and knee joint instability are commonly caused by neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy (CP), spina bifida, central nervous system injuries, and paresis or paralysis. In each of the above cases, the use of a knee orthosis with adjustable range of motion, such as FIX-KD-38, helps prevent deformities, enables safe weight-bearing, and supports gait re-education.
Purpose of use
- cerebral palsy (CP)
- central nervous system injuries
- spina bifida
- flaccid and spastic paralysis
- knee ligament injuries (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL)
- knee joint instability
- post-traumatic limitations of range of motion
- other neurological conditions requiring additional lower limb stabilization
Product description
The FIX-KD-38 knee brace is an advanced orthopaedic solution designed specifically for paediatric patients. It combines safety, comfort, and precise control of knee joint movement. It is an ideal choice for children following injuries, in cases of knee instability, during post-operative recovery, or in the presence of functional disorders of the knee joint.
The knee brace is equipped with a lightweight ROM hinge, allowing flexion and extension adjustment in 15° increments, with the option to lock the joint. This feature helps maintain soft tissue flexibility and prevents knee joint deformities.
The FIX-KD-38 knee brace features an anatomical design adapted to paediatric dimensions. It is lightweight, ergonomic, and comfortable, does not restrict movement, and ensures maximum comfort during application and wear. Aluminium side splints and ergonomic straps maintain the knee joint in an alignment, preventing unintended displacements. The materials used in the brace’s production process are skin-friendly and breathable, minimizing the risk of irritation while ensuring adequate air circulation, which is particularly important during prolonged use.
The FIX-KD-38 paediatric knee brace is a medical device intended for the stabilization, control, and limitation of knee joint range of motion in children and adolescents. It has broad application in both neurological and orthopaedic conditions. In cases of deformities or abnormal gait patterns (e.g. crouch gait), the use of the brace improves gait mechanics. The knee brace effectively prevents hyperextension, stabilizes the limb during verticalization, and supports gait re-education. The product is suitable for both conservative treatment and post-traumatic or post-surgical rehabilitation. The brace provides improved control of lower limb alignment during walking, increasing the child’s safety during everyday activities and rehabilitation.
